6/19/23… Chico, California: Friday Night, John Clark was in action at Silver Dollar Speedway the rescheduled David Tarter Memorial. John would face a strong field of cars on Friday Night but managed to bring home a 9th place finish.
The night began with qualifying, where John was the 1st car to hit the track in the 4th & final group. John would end up 4th quickest overall in the 4th & final group, setting up nicely for the heat race on Friday Night.
“I would go out and qualify 4th in the group lining me up 4th in the heat race.”
John would roll off from the outside of row two in the 4th heat race. Starting 4th, John quickly moved up to the 3rd spot. Once in 3rd, John would hold onto the 3rd position & finish the heat race there.
“In the heat race I got a good start and was able to pick up a spot finishing in the 3rd position.“
When the feature event came around, John started on the outside of row six in the 12th spot. Early on, John fell backwards a few spots. However, the driver of the 12J would get going. John moved forward & made a last second pass to get into the 9th spot.
“In the main event I would start 12th. In the opening laps I would fall back a few spots, but eventually got rolling picking up a few positions. I was able to finish 9th getting a last lap pass coming to the checkered flag.“
It was another solid result for John Clark on Friday Night. The 12J team is starting to get better as the season goes on & the results are showing. They’ll look to improve on Friday’s results this Saturday in Placerville.
