5/18/23... Marysville, California: Saturday Night, John Clark would be in action at Marysville Raceway for the first time in 2023. John would look for some good results but but found some unfortunate luck instead.
The night started with qualifying, where John would try & lay down the fastest lap he could. Unfortunately, the CCI Racing team would miss on the setup & John would not get the lap they wanted. They would end up going 15th quickest overall.
"I would go out to qualify and the track changed drastically so we missed set up and I needed up qualifying 15th."
John then lined up in 5th for the heat race. Early on, the driver of the 12J would get to 4th. However, a car in front of John would get loose, & leave John nowhere to go. John would be collected but keep the car going, & go on to finish 4th.
"That would put me starting 5th in the heat race. When the green flag dropped in the heat I quickly got to 4th and was running strong. Unfortunately a car in front of me got loose on the top while I was running the bottom and spun out and I got collected. I was able to keep the car going and finished 4th."
When John got back to the trailer, they would inspect the car for damage. Unfortunately, they found that the chassis was broken & that would bring their night to an end.
"When I got back to the trailer to examine the damage, I noticed that the chassis was broke. That was the end of the night for us."
It was not the way that John & the CCI Racing team wanted the night to go. They will rebuild & be back at the track in a matter of no time.
