5/16/24… Burlington, Washington: Saturday Night, Bailey would finally kick off her 2024 racing season. After a long off season, they had the new car ready & Bailey was ready to roll at Skagit Speedway with the 410 under the hood.
The night would begin with time trials. Bailey was the 20th off 22 drivers to hit the track. They weren’t ready for the slick track conditions & would miss the setup. She’d lay down a time of 12.681 & time in 19th quickest overall.
Going into the heat race, Bailey would rolled off from the inside of row four in the 7th starting spot. They made some changes that definitely had the car trending in the right direction. She was able to gain a spot & go on to finish her heat race in the 6th spot.
“Last night was my first night racing our eagle chassis, without getting a playday this year we were totally green on our setup,” Bailey added. “Unfortunately with the track being slick right off the bat we missed the set up & qualified 19th. After we made changes our heat race was much better. Started 7th & was able to gain a spot.”
Rolling off for the feature, Bailey started in the 19th spot. The feature was a quick one with laps ticking off quickly. She was able to gain a spot & stay out of trouble, finishing the feature event in the 18th position.
“The feature was a quick 30 laps where I was able to also pick up another spot. Overall we made a lot of notes for the new car & learned a ton. We have a much better starting spot for Saturday at Skagit.”
It was a solid night to kick off the 2024 racing season. With the new chassis, it was good for her to get some valuable laps behind the wheel & stay out of trouble as well.
