By: Fast Time Media

5/28/24… Burlington, Washington: Saturday Night, Bailey Jean was once again in action at Skagit Speedway with the 410 under the hood. For the 4th points race of the season, Bailey entered the night looking to figure out the new car & progress the 2024 program along.

The night began with time trials. She was the 17th of 19 410’s to hit the track on a hooked up track. Avoiding some of the holes in the track, Bailey was able to lay down a time that put her 10th quickest overall.

Bailey then rolled off for the heat race & rolled off from the inside of row two in the 3rd spot. Early on she battled to hold on to 3rd, & was able to fend off a challenger to finish the heat race where she started in the 3rd spot.

“Started off the night by going out late in qualifying again. After the rain we had this week, the track was pretty hooked up. I was able to qualify 10th which was a good confidence boost for our team. In the heat race we started 3rd, had a good battle with 4th for a few laps then was able to pull away & settle in for 3rd place finish.”

As they lined up for the feature event, Bailey started on the outside of row five in the 10th starting spot. Early on, the feature struggled to get going. After a few cautions, they were able to get the feature event rolling.

Starting 10th, Bailey felt comfortable in the car early on during the feature.

“Right away I felt very comfortable, I was able to use the holes to my advantage & drive straight off each turn.” Bailey stated.

Battling hard & staying out of trouble, the feature was a race of attrition. Surviving multiple cautions & even an open red. Bailey was able to move forward. She ended up gaining a pair of spots, getting up to the 8th spot & finishing the feature event with her first top-10 of the season.

“We pushed off 10th in the feature, after multiple restarts & a few spinning cars we got rolling for 30 laps. It was a long race but we were able to gain two spots & finish 8th. With this being our first top ten of the year it gave me a great sense of hope & now we set our eyes on fine tuning the motor.”

It was a really good night for Bailey & the team on Saturday Night. They seem to improving as the season goes on. Bailey was able to qualify well & she moved forward during the feature to bring home a top-10 finish.

“I have to give a big thanks to my crew this week, there were a lot of changes we had to make during race night & they were on top of it all night.”

Bailey would like to thank her sponsors: Art By Nature, Dunlap Industrial Hardware, Buzz Inn Granite Falls, James M Bass Trucking, Bickford Ford, AA Plumbing LLC, Esthetics By Kenny, Fred & Sharon Crabtree, & Grumpy’s Field Service.
