6/4/24… Burlington, Washington: Saturday Night, it was another night of 410 points action at Skagit Speedway for Bailey. There was a solid field of 21 Winged 410 Sprint Cars in action for College & Kids Night at Skagit Speedway.
The night started out with time trials where Bailey was the 8th of 21 410 Sprint Cars to hit the track. Going out around halfway through the field, Bailey was able to lay down a solid lap & time in 12th quickest overall.
“Rough night to say the least. Still fighting fuel issues but we did the best we could. Unsure the night would actually kick off due to rain, we qualified 12th against another stout field!”
She then rolled out for the heat race & started on the inside of row two in the 3rd starting spot. From 3rd, Bailey didn’t have the heat race that she wanted. She ended up falling back to the 5th spot & finished the heat race there.
Bailey went out for the feature & rolled off from the 12th spot. The car was tight early on & she didn’t get the start she wanted. Bailey would hit the wall on lap one which definitely hurt the car. She would hang on & only lose a couple of spots & came home 14th.
“Unfortunately the car was extremely tight under a full fuel load & I hit the wall on lap one. After dropping some spots I was able to keep going and finish 14th. Car definitely wasn’t the same after contact but I wasn’t sure what it was exactly so I just did the best I could.”
It wasn’t the night that Bailey & the team wanted but they still battled all night long. After qualifying well, the rest of the night was tough. However, Bailey still managed to bring home a 14th place finish to end the night.
