9/28/23… Antioch, California: Saturday Night, Bryant Bell was once again in action. This time with the BCRA Midgets at Antioch Speedway. A very good field of 26 Midgets would pack the Antioch Speedway pit area ready to roll on Saturday Night.
Bryant would kick the night off with time trials. He would be the 2nd of 26 Midgets to hit the track & qualify. Going out early, Bryant was able to lay down a time of 14.823 which was enough to time the 16 year old in 11th quickest.
That lined Bryant up to start on the inside of row two in the third spot for his heat race. After starting 3rd, he would quickly get in line & hold the spot. Bryant would go on to finish in the 3rd spot & lock into the feature event.
“We had a pretty good car all night i think we qualifed 11th. We started 3rd and finished 3rd in are heat race.“
As they went into the feature, Bryant would start 8th in a strong field of cars. Unfortunately, on lap one there was a big incident that collected Bryant. He had damage & would have to head to the work area to fix it.
They were able to fix it & get Bryant back on track,
But he’d have to tag the back of the field. As he restarted in the back, Bryant was able to make his way through the field. Bryant would pass a lot of cars, and stay out of trouble to go on & finish the feature event in the 8th spot.
“In the main we started 8th next to some heavy hitters and in turn 3 of the first lap there was a accident in front of me and it crushed in the right side nerf bar into the tire. I went into the pits and my team doctored up my car the best they could and i ran it up and finished 8th.“
It was a good night for Bryant despite being underpowered with the Eco-Tech Engine in & being involved in an early wreck. He was still able to charge his way forward from the back & grabbed a top-10 finish.
