6/5/24… Placerville, California: Saturday Night, Billy Aton was in action with the NARC 410 Sprint Cars. After a weekend off the series returned to action for the Dave Bradway Memorial at Placerville Speedway in the only visit to the track in 2024.
The night started out with qualifying, with Billy being the 17th & final car to hit the track in group A. Going out late in the group, Billy was only able to lay down a time of 11.514. That would time Billy in 14th quickest in the group.
When heat race action rolled around, Billy started on the inside of row four in the 7th spot. Starting 7th, Billy wasn’t able to gain any spots & would finish there. The B-main saw Billy start on the inside of row four in the 7th spot. This time, Billy was able to charge forward, gaining five spots & finishing in the 2nd spot.
His B-main effort was enough to lock into the feature event. Billy would roll off from the outside of row eleven in the 22nd spot. Starting deep, he was able to stay out of trouble & move forward. Billy found himself in the 15th spot when the checkered flag fell.
It was a good night for Billy in his only visit of the season to Placerville Speedway. After a tough start to the night in qualifying & his heat race, he was able to race forward in both the B-main & Feature to salvage a solid finish.
