4/9/24… Stockton, California: Saturday Night, Billy Aton was back in action with the NARC 410 Sprint Cars. After some rain outs, racing was back in action on Saturday at the newly configured Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday.
Billy kicked the night off with time trials. He would be the 10th car to hit the track in group A. Once on track, Billy was able to put down a pretty good lap. With a time of 14.049c Billy would time in 9th quickest in the group.
That would line Billy up in the 5th spot for the heat race. With only five cars transferring to the feature, Billy would need to hold onto the spot. After starting 5th, he fell back to the 6th spot. Billy tried to battle back into a transfer spot but had to settle for 6th & go to the B-main.
In the B-main, Billy would start out in a transfer spot as he rolled off from the inside of row two in the 3rd spot. He quickly got into 2nd & from there would go on to finish there & transfer into the feature event on Saturday.
Billy started deep in the feature as he rolled off from the outside of the 11th row in 22nd. Early on, he was involved in a three car incident. There was little to no damage & he’d continue on. With roughly 10 laps left, Billy would pull into the infield & call it a night with a 19th place finish.
Overall, it was a solid night for Billy in his first time at the newly reconfigured Stockton Dirt Track. Like others, it was definitely a change of pace & took some getting used to, but Billy was able to get some solid laps on the track.
