5/22/24… Tulare, California: Saturday & Sunday Night, Billy Aton would be in action with the NARC 410 Sprint Cars. He ended up showing some good speed this weekend, including battling for a win at the Stockton Dirt Track.
Saturday started with time trials, where he was the 25th of 26 410 Sprint Cars to hit the track. Billy ended up laying down a time of 15.410 which was enough for 22nd quick. That set him up to start 8th in the heat race, before he’d go on to finish there as well.
The feature saw Billy roll off from the 23rd spot. As the race went green, they struggled with some engine stumbling & just tried to finish the feature. Billy was able to gain a trio of spots & finish the feature in 20th.
Sunday Night, Billy was in action at the Stockton Dirt Track where he had a much better night. He would go out much earlier in qualifying as he was the 3rd of 20 cars to hit the track. A time of 12.490 was enough to time Billy in 9th quickest overall.
That set him up to start on the front row outside for his heat race. Starting 2nd, Billy jumped out to the lead & would go on to win the heat race. He would lock into the dash where he started 1st & went on to finish 2nd.
Heading into the feature, Billy started on the outside of the front row in 2nd. The green fell & Billy quickly jumped out to the lead. He would lead the first 14 laps before his engine stalled out causing him to come to a stop. With nowhere to go, the 2nd & 3rd place cars were also collected. Billy was able to restart but ended up finishing 17th.
The weekend definitely didn’t end how Billy wanted, but it was good to see Billy battling for the win on Sunday Night. They’ll get things fixed & will be back in action for the next NARC 410 race.
