Billy Aton Battles For Win at Cottage Grove Speedway!

By: Faat Time Media

6/18/24… White City, Oregon: Wednesday Night, Billy Aton kicked off the Fastest Five Days in Motorsports at Southern Oregon Speedway. It was a long & grueling five days, but Billy would put together a solid week of racing.

Wednesday saw Billy time in 18th quick, before going from 6th to 4th in the heat race. Billy then started the feature in the 12th spot. Unfortunately, they’d only make it 13 laps as the race was called off after a scary crash & Billy would end up 13th.

Thursday saw the field grow at the Douglas County Dirt Track. Billy started the night out with a 20th place effort in time trials. He’d then start & finish his heat race in 7th, & then went from 21st to 17th in the feature event.

Fries was definitely the best night of the week for Billy. He started out the night by timing in 7th quickest overall with a time of 11.259. In the heat race, he’d roll off from 2nd & end up winning. Pulling the two in the dash, he’d start & finish in the 2nd position.

Going into the feature, Billy started 2nd & held strong for the first three laps. Unfortunately in turn four, he’d get over the cushion & slip outside of the top-10. Billy returned to the track, but got in an incident a few laps later that ended his night in 20th.

Saturday they’d make repairs & Billy was ready to roll at Willamette Speedway. After timing in 13th quickest overall, he started the heat race in 5th & slipped back to a 7th place finish. He then started the feature in 15th & would end up gaining a spot & finishing in 14th.

On Sunday, Billy would make a short stop in Washington to end the Fastest Five Days in Motorsports. He started the night off well timing in 12th quick & then finishing his heat race in 4th. The feature saw him roll off from 12th, before slipping back to 15th where he finished.

Overall, it was a good week for the Billy Aton Racing Team. He ended up having a car with the speed to win at Cottage Grove Speedway, & was able to bring home a trip of top-15 finishes to round out the week of racing in the Pacific Northwest.

Billy would like to thank his sponsors; TPU Transport, Products Unlimited, Bill Aton painting, Red Line synthetic oil, Triple X chassis, MTFX Graphics, Sellers race wings, K & T truck repair, D & H construction services, Demoltion Services & Grading Inc., and Plant Reclamation.
