11/1/23… Bakersfield, California: Saturday Night, Billy Aton was in action at Kern County Raceway Park. It was the second to final race of the 2023 NARC race season & the only trip to KCRP in 2023 for the series!
The night started out with time trials. There would be 20 Winged 410 Sprint Cars in the pit area & the competition would be tough. Billy laid down a time of 12.644. That would be enough to time the driver of the #26 in 17th quickest overall.
Going out for heat two, Billy rolled off from the outside of the third row in the 6th spot. After starting 6th, it would be hard to pass during the heat race. He would go on to finish where he started the heat race in the 6th spot.
Billy went out for the feature event & started on the inside of row nine in the 17th spot. Starting deep, Billy would move forward as much as he could. It was very hard to pass, but Billy was able to find his way forwards. He’d end up going from 17th, up to 14h & finishing in the 14th spot.
It was a solid night for Billy. While he didn’t get the finish he wanted, they were able to bring the car home in one piece & had some solid speed.
