11/7/22…Stockton California: Saturday Night, Billy Aton and his team would make the trip to Stockton California for the Tribute to Gary Patterson to end off the 2022 NARC season. A solid field of 19 Winged 410 Sprint Cars would be in the pit area, ready to close off their NARC seasons on a strong note.
Billy would get his night under way with single car qualifying. He would roll out about halfway through as he would be the 10th car out. Going out 10th, he would lay down a solid lap, but it would only put him 17th quick overall out of the 19 Winged 410 Sprint Cars in attendance.
The heat race would see Billy roll off from the outside of the 3rd row, from the 6th starting position. Starting 6th, he would focus on gaining as many spots as every car would transfer. Billy would end up finishing 5th in the heat race.
In the feature, Billy would start in the 17th spot on the inside of row number 9. Starting 17th, he would have a good race. He would keep the car clean and stay out of trouble. When the checkered flag fell he would finish in the 15th spot and that would bring his season to a close.
Overall it was a solid way to end the season. Billy would move forward in his heat race and feature. He would also end up finishing 8th overall in the NARC points, despite missing a race. He would take home a top-15 to end his season!
