7/10/24… Petaluma, California: Saturday Night, Billy was in action with the NARC 410 Sprint Cars. The series made its line trip to the season to Petaluma Speedway & Billy would look to have a good night at his home track.
The night started out with time trials. He was the 14th of 21 cars to hit the track. Going out in the later half of the field, Billy was able to lay down a pretty good lap. With a time of 13.420, Billy would end up timing in 6th quickest overall.
That set him up to roll off from the pole of his heat race. Starting 1st, Billy would go on to win his heat race & lock into the dash. Starting 6th in the dash, it was hard to pass. After starting in the 6th position, Billy would finish where he started in the 6th spot.
Entering the feature event, Billy would roll off from where he finished the dash in 6th. The start of the race didn’t go as he wanted, as he’d get into a pile up. After fixing the wings, he’d return to the track & began to charge back towards the front. When the checkered flag fell, Billy was able to finish 8th.
It was Billy’s best finish of the season so far. Despite an unfortunate start to the feature event, Billy was able to rebound. He was able to charge forward after having to hear to the back of the field & picked up his first top-10 of the season.
