5/30/23... Ventura, California: Saturday Night, Blake Bower would return to USAC Western States Midgets competition. He would hop aboard the Pete Davis number 00 at Ventura Raceway where he would end up bringing home a 6th place finish.
The night would get rolling with qualifying. Blake would quickly find a ton of speed aboard an unfamiliar ride. He would end up laying down a very good lap & going 3rd quickest against a great field of drivers in Ventura.
Blake would roll off from the 5th spot for his heat race. Starting 5th, Blake would quickly start to move forward. He would begin to make some good moves in the heat race & would end up battling forward to a 3rd place finish.
"Started out the night qualifying 3rd out of 19 which put us starting 5th going into the heat race. I would go 5th to 3rd which put us starting 4th in the feature."
He would roll off from the outside of row two in the 4th spot for the feature. It would be a good feature, with a ton of battling. When the checkered flag fell on the feature, Blake would end up finishing in the 6th position.
"Started 4th in the main & after a great race I ended the night off in p6!"
It was another good night of racing for Blake Bower. In his first USAC Western States Midgets race since November, Blaker would quickly find his speed & would get comfortable as the night went on.
