Blake Bower Eyeing Return To Racing Action!

By: Chris Santos

3/14/22... Press Release: Back in November at Merced Speedway, Blake Bower would be running with the USAC National Midgets during their West Coast swing. During what was a normal heat race, things would take a quick turn. Blake would come out of turn two on the final lap, when he got into the fall, and went for a nasty ride.

It would end up being a very scary wreck for Blake. The wreck would keep Blake out of action for the rest of the National Midget West Coast swing, with multiple serious injuries. "It was definitely one the most scary situations I have ever been in, it happened so fast and had absolutely no time to react to anything." Blake stated, "Every hit just continued to hurt more and more and I didn't know when it was going to end."

Blake would end up breaking his arm, snapping his ulna in two, and breaking his left kneecap. Despite the injuries, the first thing on Blake's mind after the wreck was of course, racing.

"I wasn't worried about how bad I got hurt. There were just so many questions and thoughts going through my head. Could i have prevented it? Am I going to drive next year? The only thing I could do was just think about next year and wait."

As the 2023 season approaches, Blake has quickly made his way back to 100% and is ready to roll for the 2023 season. He plans to spend the 2023 season running for Tony Boscacci with the WMR Midget series. However, Blake is still looking for USAC Midget & Sprint Car rides for the 2023 season.

Reflecting on the wreck, and going into 2023, Blake is trying to take every positive he can from an unfortunate situation & learn from it.

"I've learned so much over the time I was off and it really helped having the time to go to the shop & help Tony." Blake added, "I've been learning how I can improve being a better driver on and off the track, and taking the time to really understand how the cars work."

With the 2023 season quickly approaching, Blake is ready to go & is grateful for all the people who help make his racing career possible. "The people i want to thank the most is my car owner Tony Boscacci and my dad for all the hard work they do and for giving me the opportunity to live my dream racing these cars."

Blake would like to thank his sponsors; #OrlandPublicAutoAuction, #NationalTowing, @mountaincascade, @cascade_motorsports, #ArborSpecialties, @zmaxraceproducts, @linex_of_pittsburg_ca, #VanDyneEngineering, @soldbuyguys, #EKTrucking, #RainForRent, #team1industries, #trivalleyhose, @motivatedeyewear, Al and christy Huggans, and Ron Singh.
