By: Fast Time Media

5/24/23... Antioch, California: Friday Night, Blake Bower would take his first ever laps in a Non Winged Sprint Car. He would end up taking home a runner up finish in Antioch. On Saturday, he would be in action with the best Wingless Series in Northern California & take home a 10th place finish.

"This weekend was an absolute blast getting to be behind the wheel of the Finkenbinder/Tuttle Motorsports 3F! 2nd on Friday and Finishing in the top 10 on Saturday with the Hunt series was a great start to hopefully many more races to come, thank you Ted and Rose Finkenbinder and the Tuttle family for all of their hard work and giving me a great car to run!"

Friday got started with qualifying, where Blake would end up going out & going 10th quick. That would start him on the inside of row three in the 5th spot for the heat race. Starting deep wouldn't be an issue for Blake. He would charge forward in the heat race going from 5th to 1st.

That put Blake starting 2nd in the Friday Night feature. Starting 2nd, Blake would quickly jump out to 2nd & rip off some really good laps. When the checkered flag fell on the feature, Blake would finish where he started in the 2nd spot.

Saturday would see tougher competition, as Blake would run with the Joe Hunt Magneto Wingless Sprint Tour. 30 Wingless Sprint Cars would be in attendance, as Blake would be ready to roll on Saturday Night.

Kicking off the night with qualifying, Blake would be the 15th of 30 cars to hit the track. He would lay down a good lap that put him 12th quick overall. That started Blake outside of the front row in 2nd for the what race, and he would come home with a 3rd place finish.

Blake rolled off from 13th for the feature event. It was very tough to pass during the feature. Despite that, Blake was able to put on some good battles. He would move forward, getting into the top-10 & bringing home a 10th place finish.

Overall, it was an impressive weekend for Blake Bower in his Wingless Sprint Car debut. A runner up finish followed up by a 10th place finish is an impressive way to kick off your Wingless Sprint Car racing career.
