5/3/23... Ventura California: Saturday Night, Blake Bower would be back in action on Saturday Night with the WMR Midgets at Ventura Speedway. A solid field of 14 WMR Midgets would be in the pit area ready to get rolling on Saturday.
The night would start out with qualifying. Blake would roll out & look to lay down a solid lap. He would end up doing just that. Blake would go out & would end up going QuickTime overall & setting himself up in a good spot for the rest of the night.
Blake would then roll off from the outside of the front row for his heat race. Starting 2nd, Blake would jump out to the lead. He would go on to dominate the heat race & take home the heat race win, locking himself into the invert.
"I started off the night with fast time, and then a heat race win."
He would roll off from the feature in the 5th spot. Blake would be rolling in the feature. He would begin to slice & dice his way forward. Once he got to 2nd, he would try & set his sights on leader Bryant Bell. Unfortunately, Bryant was checked out & Blake would finish 2nd.
"The invert was 6 so we started 5th in the main. I gave it my all but came up just short to my teammate Bryant Bell."
Blake and his team have the car on rails early on this season. He will look to continue that speed as they get deeper into the 2023 race season.
