4/23/24… Watsonville, California: Friday Night, Caleb Debem was in action at Ocean Speedway for the 2nd race of the 2024 racing season. It was another really good night for Caleb & his team which ended with a top-5 finish.
The night began with time trials, where Caleb was the 18th of 20 Winged 360 Sprint Cars to hit the track for time trials. Going out late, Caleb struggled with the track conditions, but was still able to time in 9th quickest overall.
Next up was the heat race, where Caleb rolled off from the outside of row one in the 2nd starting spot. Caleb jumped out to the lead & was able to grab the heat race win & make the dash. In the dash, he rolled off from outside of row three in the 6th spot & went on to finish 4th.
Caleb lined up on the inside of row three in the 5th starting spot. Starting 5th, Caleb moved around a lot during the feature. He was able to stay around the top-5 for most of the race & made his way to 4th where he’d finish the feature.
“We started off the night okay, didn’t do good qualifying because of track conditions. Then had a good run in the heat race & dash. In the main moved around a lot & had some fun.”
It was an impressive night on Friday for Caleb & his team. He had a top-5 car all night & was able to bring home one of the best finishes of his young racing career so far.
