By: Fast Time Media

10/5/23… Saturday Night, Cameron La Rose was in double duty action at Central Arizona Raceway. He would run his first ever race in a Winged 360 Sprint Car & also ran with the Challenge Cup Sprint Cars as he looked to lock up a championship.

He started the night out with heat race action for both the Challenge Cup Non Wing Sprint Car & the Winged 360 Sprint Car. He would begin the Challenge Cup heat on the pole spot. He would go on to win the heat race. In the Winged 360 Sprint Car heat race, he started in the 4th spot & was able to gain a spot & finish in 3rd.

“Started on the pole of the heat, lead every lap of the Challenge Cup heat & won it. Started 4th in the Winged 360 Sprint Car heat. I got to 3rd right away and would stay there the rest of the race.”

In the Challenge Cup feature, he would roll off from the 3rd spot. After starting 3rd, Cameron would quickly get to 2nd. He’d try to slide for the lead, but the caution came out. On the ensuing restart, he would grab the lead. After that, Cameron would pull away to grab the feature win.

When the Winged 360 Sprint Car feature began, Cameron started from the 5th spot. Early on, Cameron would fall backwards. As the race went on, he was able to gain those spots back & get into 5th. Late in the race, he’d challenge for 4th, but ran out of time & would finish in the 5th spot.

“We started 3rd in the Challenge Cup main. I got to 2nd on the start and slid for the lead on lap 2 but yellow came out. Passed the leader on the restart and lead the rest of the race. For the Winged main we rolled off 5th. Ended up loosing a few spots but I found some speed and made them back. We were close to getting into 4th but couldn't seal the deal and we ended up 5th.“

It was a great night for Cameron at Central Arizona Raceway. He would grab the Challenge Cup win & lock up the championship. In his Winged 360 Sprint Car debut, he would grab a top-5 finish & looked really good doing so.

Cameron would like to thank his sponsors; Mears Mechanical, Ivy Trucking, and Tim Mihocko racing.
