Casey Schmitz Has Good Weekend in Red Bluff!

By: Chris Santos

11/3/22…Red Bluff California: Saturday, Casey Schmitz and his team would make the trip to Red Bluff California for Points Race #2 of the 2022-2023 season. A great field of 42 Open 500 Outlaw Karts would be in attendance ready to kick off the 2nd race of the season.

Casey would roll out for qualifying where he would end up being the 19th car out of 42. Going out about mid pack, he would still lay down a good lap that would end up putting him 6th quick overall and set himself up nicely.

In the heat race he would start in the 3rd position, needing to finish top-2 to transfer to the feature. Starting 3rd, Casey would end up finishing 4th and missing a transfer by 2 spots, putting him into the B-main.

The B-main would also see him roll off from the 3rd spot. Only this time he would need to finish top-6 to transfer. Casey would do just that as he would finish the B-main in the 4th spot and transfer to the feature event.

Casey would start the A-main in the 12th spot on the outside of row 6. Starting 12th, Casey would battle hard from the 12th spot. When the checkered flag would fall, he would end up finishing where he started in the 12th spot.

Sunday, Casey Schmitz would once again be in action, this time for Points Race #3 of the 2022-2023 season, and the Tyler Wolf Memorial. Another great field of 40 Outlaw Karts would be in the pit area ready to roll on Sunday.

His night would once again start out with qualifying as he would be the 8th car out. Going out early, he would be able to lay down another good lap, this time putting him 12th quick overall and putting him into a very good spot for the rest of his day in Red Bluff.

The heat race would see Casey roll off from the front row outside in the 2nd position. He would need to stay in the top-2 to make the feature. Casey would do just that as after starting 2nd, he would get to the 1st spot and never look back, going on to win his heat race and make the feature.

Casey would transfer directly to the feature where he would start in the 8th spot. Starting 8th he would be strong early on battling towards the front. However an issue would bring his night to an end, sending him back to 15th where he would finish.

It ended up being a solid weekend for Casey and his team. They were able to lock into the feature both times and show great speed on both nights as they now have a month off before Red Bluff returns to action!

Next Race: TBA
