Chance Grasty Has Unlucky Weekend in Red Bluff!

By: Chris Santos

11/1/22…Red Bluff California: Saturday, Chance Grasty would once again make the trip to Red Bluff California. This time it was for Points Race #2 of the season and to kick off a double header weekend. 42 Open 500 Outlaw Karts would be in the pit area ready for a great weekend of racing.

Chance would start his Saturday off with single car qualifying. He would need to lay down a good lap to set himself up nicely. His lap would end up being a solid one that ended up putting him 20th quick about mid pack in the field.

He would line up for his heat race in the 5th spot inside of row 3. Chance would get into a lap one incident that would put him in the back. However he would quickly drive forward and get into 3rd. It seemed like he would take home a 3rd place finish in the heat race but he would end up getting sideways and getting turned around and would finish 7th.

“Started 5th in the heat race, on lap one we got into an incident putting us in the back and we drove it back up into 3rd and was gonna finished 3rd and then on the last lap we got a little sideways and got some help getting turned around and ended up finishing 7th.“

That would line him up in the D-main event where he would start in the 2nd spot. He would show good speed as he would get to the lead and lead some laps. However he would back to 2nd where he would finish the D-main and transfer. “We started 2nd in the D-main and led some laps ultimately finishing 2nd.”

From his D-main transfer he would roll off deep in the C-main. However he would continue to show some very good speed as he would quickly charge forward. Once again he would get into a transfer spot as he would finish 6th and squeeze into the B. “In the C we started in the back and hung on to finish 6th.”

Chance would then line up 16th in the B-main event looking to continue his run. He would continue to make some good moves but unfortunately got sideways and collected another car. They would end up having an issue that would bring their night to an end. “Started 16th in the B and made my way up a couple spots and got sideways and collected another car. Our ignition wire kept on poping off and we weren’t able to finish.”

Sunday, Chance and his team would return to action as they looked to continue their impressive speed they showed on Saturday. Another great field of 40 Open 500 Outlaw Karts would return to action for this years Tyler Wolf Memorial and the 3rd points race of the season.

Once again first up would be single car qualifying for Chance as they looked to lay down a better qualifying lap then they did on Saturday. Unfortunately he would once again lay down a tough lap as he would end up 26th quick out of the 40 Outlaw Karts in attendance. “Started off the night rough going 26th quick.”

That would line Chance up in the 6th spot for his heat race. He would once again get caught up in an incident but this time he would manage to bring home a 5th place finish in his heat race. “Finished 5th in the heat after getting caught up I an accident.”

He would end up rolling off 3rd in the C-main courtesy of his heat race finish. Starting 3rd, Chance would just roll around in the top-5 for the C-main and would finish in the 4th spot transferring to the B-main. “Started 3rd in the C-main and was running top 5 throughout the whole race and ended up finishing 4th.”

Chance would transfer to the B-main where he would roll off from the 14th spot. He would quickly make some impressive moves and found himself in 7th one spot out of a transfer. However he would have another issue that would bring his night to an end. “Started 14th in the B main and in 2 laps we were in 7th one spot out of the transfer and we poped a chain off the front sprocket and wasn’t able to get it on fast enough to return.”

Overall it was another unlucky weekend for Chance but they showed a ton of speed on both nights. On Saturday he made a strong alphabet soup run and on Sunday he would have issues fighting for a transfer spot.

Next Race: TBA
