By: Fast Time Media

10/16/23… Tulare, California: Saturday Night, Colby Johnson would be in action at the Tulare Thunderbowl. They’d make the trip down on Saturday, to get laps in preparation of this coming weekend’s Trophy Cup.

Colby would kick the night out with qualifying. He would be the 3rd car to hit the track in a very tough final group. Despite the tough group, Colby would lay down a time of 13.834 which would put him 3rd quickest in the group.

That would start him on the outside of tbe front row for his heat race. On the initial start, Colby would quickly fall in line in 2nd & started ripping off laps. After a few cautions, and some good laps for the #38 team, Colby would finish the heat race where he started in the 2nd spot.

“We qualified 2nd technically but our lap got deleted but ended up 3rd. Started 2nd in the heat, had some problems but held on to 2nd.”

Going into the feature, Colby would start on the inside of the sixth row in 11th. He was able to get into a good rhythm & would make his way up to 8th. On a restart, Colby would get a tough start & ended up falling back to the 12th spot where he’d ultimately finish.

“Ran the main & started 11th. Made my way up to 8th, then on a restart just whiffed it & fell back to 12th. I battled for 11th but ended up 12th.”

Saturday was a good tune-up for Colby Johnson & his team. They made some very valuable laps at a track that has had limited races this season. He will look for a great run this weekend for Trophy Cup.
