Colby Johnson Grabs 6th Place Finish in Placerville!

7/7/23… Antioch, California: Saturday Night Colby Johnson was in action at Antioch Speedway with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. Then on Tuesday, he was back in action at Placerville Speedway for the 4th of July Spectacular.


“Felt good to be quick & go quick time. Really good two nights, had a lot of speed & looking forward to the Howard Kaeding Classic.”


The driver of the Pit Stop USA #38 got Saturday underway with qualifying as he was the very first car to hit the track. He would lay down a time of. 13.198 which would end up being quick time. He then started his heat race in the 4th spot & finished where he started in 4th. He pulled the eight for the dash & was able to drive his way up to 5th.


Colby would line up on the inside of row three in the 5th spot. He would quickly get up to 4th & would try & fight his way to the top-3. Unfortunately, he would struggle on a restart & started to fall backwards. He would end up spinning & then finished the feature in the 16th spot.


Tuesday, he would be in action at Placerville Speedway for the 4th of July Spectacular. The night got off to a tough start as he would go out in the grease & times in 12th quickest. He then lined up on the pole of the heat race, where he dominated & grabbed the win.


He would start the feature on the inside of row three in the 5th position. Colby spent most of the feature event battling for the 3rd & 4th spot. On the final restart, the car would get tight & he would fall backwards to the 6th spot where he finished.


It was a really good weekend for Colby Johnson. While he didn’t get the result he wanted Saturday he had a ton of speed. Then on Tuesday, he rebounded from a tough start to the night to finish 6th.
