By: Fast Time Media

9/6/24… Placerville, California: Saturday & Sunday Night, Cooper Marchant was back in action. He made his first ever trip to Placerville Speedway for this year’s Nor-Cal Posse Shootout as he looked to have a good weekend.

Cooper started the night out with time trials. He hit the track & was able to time in 18th quickest. That lined him up in the 5th spot for his heat race. From 5th, he’d fall back to the 6th spot & finished the heat race there.

“The weekend went pretty well for our first time at Placerville. We treated the first night as our test/practice night, to get a feel for the track & understand what changes we would need to make. We were rolling pretty well for most of the night.”

That set Cooper up to roll off from the 7th spot in the B-main. Starting 7th, Cooper continued get more laps under his belt. He ended up spinning in turns 1 & 2, & another car got into him. He’d keep going, but end up finishing 6th where his night ended.

“We make some changes before the B-main, & we rolled out. I made a mistake & looped the car between 1 & 2, & we got tagged by another car. We finished the race, & made repairs that night.”

Sunday Night went a little better for Cooper. He started the night out by timing in 12th quickest overall. That set him up to roll off from the 3rd spot in heat race #2. From there, he’d fall back to 4th & finished the heat race there.

Going into the feature, he started on the outside of row six the 12th starting spot. From 12th, Cooper would battle hard to fight his way forward. Battling around the 12th spot, he’d fall back to 14th & finish the feature there.

“The second night was much better, we pushed harder, we had the car more dialed in for the track.”

It was a good weekend for Cooper in his first trip to Placerville Speedway. Saturday was more about getting laps under his belt & on Sunday, he was able to make the feature & finish 14th.

“Cooper would also like to thank his sponsors: AFEX Graphics, Ed’s Custom Trailer Beds, Slade Precision Shocks, & CalFleet.
