By: Fast Time Media

9/13/23… Visalia, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Dalton Parreira returned to action with another double header weekend. He would take on Keller Auto Raceway on Friday & Lemoore Raceway on Saturday Night.

The night would start out on a very good note for Dalton. He would be the second of Twenty-Four 600’s to hit the track. Going out early, he was able to lay down a great lap. A time of 10.401 would be able to put Dalton QuickTime overall in qualifying.

He went out for the heat race & rolled off from the 4th spot. As he started 4th, he was able to run a solid heat race & stay out of trouble. When the checkered flag dropped on the heat race, Dalton came 3rd & made the invert.

Coming into the feature, Dalton started 4th after the invert. After a few early cautions the feature finally got underway. A chaotic first half of the race was saw Dalton shuffled back to 7th. However, he would make his way back into the top-5. Late in the race, Dalton was able to hold on to the 5th spot & bring home a 5th place finish.

“In qualifying I went out early. Set a really good lap, I knew it was good. In the Heat Race, I started 4th & did nothing risky to finish 3rd. With the Invert, I started 4th. After 2 restarts we finally got a lap in. I got shuffled back to 7th or so after getting pinched into the wall. Made my way back up to 5th and got a top 5 without brakes.”

Saturday, Dalton wouldn’t get as good of a start to the night as Friday did. After being the final car out for qualifying, Dalton timed in 7th quick & missed the invert by one spot. He would start his heat race on the pole & went on to lead every lap & win the heat race.

A rough track for the feature would pose a challenge to 7th starting Dalton. It was both physically & mentally tough on drivers. Dalton would end up moving forward one spot to 6th & finishing what was a green to checkered feature in 6th.

“In qualifying, I missed my line just barely & missed the top 6 (the invert) by one spot. I got a good jump in my heat race & led the whole thing with no worry. The track was really rough in the feature. Everyone I talked too got wore out just like I did. I passed a car and finished 6th. Green to checkered race like that I was happy with the result.“

It was a good weekend for Dalton as he now looks ahead to the Mark Hagopian Memorial race next weekend. He brings a top-5 at Keller Auto Raceway into a crown jewel event on the West Coast for Micro Sprints.
