Dalton Parreira Charges To 10th Place Finish At Tulsa Shootout!

By: Fast Time Media

1/5/23... Tulsa, Oklahoma: Last Wednesday, Dalton would begin the biggest race of the year for him & his team. The 2023 Tulsa Shootout. To end the year, he would be in Winged & Non-Winged Outlaw action all week.

Things got started on Wednesday, with Winged Outlaw heat race action. Dalton would roll off from the inside of row three in 5th & finish 2nd. The following day, he began Non-Winged Outlaw action with his heat race. He'd roll off from the 8th spot & charge forwards to finish 4th.

After having Friday off, he'd be in action on Saturday for the Qualifiers. The Winged Outlaw qualifier saw Dalton roll off from the outside of the front row, as he'd go on to finish where he started in 2nd. In Non-Wing Outlaw qualifier action, Dalton would start 11th but struggle & end up finishing 12th.

Dalton wasn't pleased with his qualifier results but entered Sunday in a solid spot for both divisions. The Non-Wing Outlaw B-main saw Dalton roll off from 10th. They seeemed to have hit on the setup as he charged to 3rd. Unfortunately, he ran out of time to get into the final transfer spot & finish 3rd, ending his Non-Wing Tulsa Shootout.

He'd be in a much better spot for the Winged Outlaw division as he started the B-main in 1st. After a tough battle up front, he'd go on to grab the win & make the LCQ. In the LCQ, Dalton started 4th, but struggled. Luckily, he was able to just hang on & finish in the 8th & final transfer spot.

After an impressive run, Dalton found himself slated to roll off from the 24th & final spot in the Winged Outlaw feature. When the 55-lap feature began, Dalton quickly began to work his way forward. He'd find a line nobody was running & began to charge forward. By the time the checkered flag fell, Dalton was able to move his way up fourteen spots & finish 10th.

"The heat races for me went really smooth as we started at the back of both. In the qualifiers I struggled in both the Wing & Non wing. B-Main day I had Non-Wing first. I battled my way up to 3rd & just ran out of laps to get the final transfer. In the Wing car I had a great battle with Tj Smith, I started pole and finished 1st. The LCQ didnt go the way I wanted, I barely transferred into the main. I started dead last and knew there was only one way to go. In the back of the field I found a line that no one was running mid to back of the field. So I was just clicking them off and by the end of the 55 laps, I was 10th from 24th."

It was an impressive weekend for Dalton. Despite limited Non-Wing starts, he was able to put together a solid weekend & had a solid chance to make the feature. In the Winged-Outlaw, Dalton was fast all weekend & ended up with a 10th place finish to end the weekend!
