Dalton Parreira Grabs Top-5 at Plaza Park Raceway!

By: Fast Time Media

6/19/23… Visalia, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Dalton Parreira was back in action at both Plaza Park Raceway & Lemoore Raceway. Dalton would grab a top-5 & a top-10 finish this weekend.

Friday began with qualifying, where Dalton would be the 5th car out for qualifying. He would end up going 10th quickest overall. That put him on the pole of the heat race. Starting 1st, Dalton would go on to win the heat race from the pole.

“I hit the track I think 5th out and track was right around the bottom, had to have throttle control. I didn’t drive it hard enough to the center of the corner and just was a little bit slower then most guys, ended up 10th out of 17. For the heat race, the track got reworked completely, so it was pretty much wide open around the bottom. I started on the pole and jumped out to an early lead, and got the heat win.”

That put Dalton starting 10th in the feature. He would have a very good car & made some good moves. Dalton would go from 10th to 5th & round out the top-5 for the feature event.

“The car was really good in the feature event, I haven’t been super comfortable at Plaza when it comes to the main event. Started 10th, my car that night was super good and passed a few guys and got a top 5 which was my goal to get too.”

Saturday, Dalton was in action at Lemoore Raceway. He would be the 5th car to hit the track for qualifying. Dalton would end up going 2nd quick, however he would end up 1st quick as QuickTime would be light at the scales. Then in the heat race, he would go from the 4th spot to finish 2nd.

“In qualifying, it was bone slick had to putt it around the bottom. I put my left front on the berm around both corners, and set 2nd quick but got a little lucky with the quicktime guy being barely light at scales.

In the Heat Race, the track was an ice rink, you had to be really consistent and not get in the messy stuff up top. Outside pole and I got a good start, after lap one I was 2nd and stayed there for the rest of the race.”

Then in the feature event, Dalton rolled off from 4th after the redraw. He would not be comfortable during the feature & stayed in the top-5 as long as he could. Late in the race, he started to fall backwards & finish in the 9th spot.

It was another good weekend for Dalton Parreira. He continues to put together consistent results & have cars capable of winning races.

“For the main event, they redrew the 4 so I had to start 4th. Track became very abrasive, which was a bummer. I ran top as long as I could, was about 5 majority of the race. Then towards the end I couldn’t get in a rhythm like everyone else was in the rubber.”

2023 season stats: 10 events, 10 features, 1 wins, 5 top-5's, 9 top-10's
