Dalton Parreira Runner-up at Cal Cup!

By: Fast Time Media

10/19/23… Lemoore, California: Thursday, Friday, & Saturday Night, Dalton Parreira was in action at Lemoore Raceway. He’d take on Cal Cup 2023 for the final race of the 2023 season.

Thursday Night, Dalton would kick action off with qualifying. He would be the 6th car to hit the track & ended up timing in 2nd quickest overall. That lined Dalton up on the outside of row two in the 4th spot. Dalton would end up finishing where he started in 4th.

“Qualifying, I timed in 2nd quick. Great start to my weekend. In the heat I didn’t pass anyone started 4th and finished 4th.”

He would go out for the feature where he’d roll off from the 13th starting spot. After starting 13th, Dalton would quickly get moving. Dalton was able to charge his way from 13th to 5th & finish the feature there. He’d end up second in overall points after night one.

“In the main event, I started 13th and got moving right away and finished 5th. It was a great night on points and ended up 2nd in points behind Michael Faccinto.”

Friday Night, Dalton would look to have another great points night. This time he’d be the 22nd car to hit the track. Once again, he’d put down another good lap & would end up 8th quickest. He then started the heat race from the outside of the front row & went on to win the heat race.

Going out for the feature, he would roll off from the 11th spot. Once again, Dalton would mount a charge forward. Early on, he’d try some different lines. However, he’d eventually move to the bottom & begin moving forward. Dalton would end up getting up to 6th where he’d finish.

“We qualified not as good, but not to bad. Timed in 8th, that would put me outside pole of the heat that I would go and win. For the main event, I tried some different lines early in the main to see if I can figure anything out before Saturday, but didn’t really go anywhere. After a restart I went down to the bottom and made the charge to the front, and finished 6th.”

On Saturday Night, Dalton entered the night 3rd in points & started the feature event from 3rd. Early on, Dalton fell to 4th. It would be hard to pass, but once they got to lap traffic, he’d follow KJ Snow around the other two & got to second. He’d then take the lead with 15 laps to go before losing it on a restart. Dalton would fall to 3rd before getting back to 2nd where he’d finish.

“I started 3rd in the main, but fell back to 4th. The top 4 cars were all in a bundle, 2 on the bottom, 2 on top. Once lap traffic came around I followed Kj Snow by Faccinto, which would put me in 2nd. With about 15 to go I took the lead, but a few laps later there was a caution. I got a good start, but the top had so much momentum on long runs, so I got passed by Kj and Yantis. I gave them one last shot in lap traffic but fell short, and finished 2nd.”

It was a good way to end the season. He was one of the best cars all weekend at Cal Cup & came up just short of a huge win. That should he the end of their 2023 race season.
