10/19/23… Tulare, California: Last a Saturday Night, Dawson Faria was in action at the Tulare Thunderbowl. They’d take on the Trophy Cup Tune-up in preparation for this weekends 29th annual Trophy Cup!
Dawson would begin the night with time trials. He would be the 7th of eight cars to hit the track in group two. Dawson would end up laying down a time of 14.077. That would be enough to put Dawson 6th quickest in his group.
The heat race would see Dawson roll off from the outside of row three in the 6th spot. After starting 6th, Dawson would end up finishing where he started in 6th. That would send him to the B-main where he’d roll off from 5th. Starting 5th, he was able to make his way back up to 3rd & make a transfer spot.
“Come qualifying time we were just too tight & the motor was bogging down. Couldn’t lay down a solid lap like I would have liked & ended up around 6th quick in our group. We started 6th in our heat & the track was so juiced we couldn’t make any moves & finished 6th in our heat. Went to the B-main & started 5th & finished 3rd.
As they went out for the feature event, Dawson would end up rolling off from the 19th starting spot. Starting 19th, there would still be a lot of juice in the track & it would still be hard to pass. Dawson was able to hold on to the 19th spot & would finish the feature there.
“In the feature I was just too loose getting in & I was over compensating the race car & making myself worse than I already was. All in all we got good notes for next week. Thursday Night I think we will be a lot better on a more racey race track & have some fun.”
It was a good tune-up on Saturday as they got some valuable laps to prepare for this weekend’s Trophy Cup. Dawson will be ready to go for their biggest race of the 2023 race season.
