5/29/24… Marysville, California: Saturday Night, Drake Standley was back in action. He’d be in action at Marysville Raceway with the Sprint Car Challenge tour as 39 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would pack the pit area.
The night began with time trials, with Drake being the 12th car in Group A to hit the track. Going out towards the middle of Group A, Drake was able to lay down a time of 12.812 which was enough to time him in 6th quickest in Group A.
Drake then rolled off from the outside of the front row in the 2nd starting spot. Rolling off from the front row, Drake didn’t have the heat race that he wanted. He’d fall back from 2nd to the 5th position & finished the feature there.
Feature action rolled around & Drake started on the inside of the 10th row in the 19th starting spot. Starting deep in the field, Drake went to work in the feature. He was able to gain seven spots & make his way up to the 12th position where he’d finish the feature event.
It was a good night for Drake at Marysville Raceway. He was able to qualify well but struggled in the heat race. Drake was then able to bounce back in the feature & finished in the 12th spot.
