By: Fast Time Media

6/1/23... Marysville California: Saturday Night, Drake Standley would be in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour at Marysville Raceway. He would end up getting collected with another car while battling for a transfer spot in the B-main. Sunday, he would run the 360 against the 410's at Silver Dollar Speedway. Drake would end up taking home a 15th place finish.

Saturday night started out with qualifying, where Drake would be the 3rd car to hit the track in his group. Drake would end up going 7th quickest in the group. That lined him up in 7th for the heat race. He would battle a tight car in the heat race & would have to settle for 7th.

"We qualified 7th in group 3 and just couldn’t find the right line. Started 7th in the heat and car was super tight so it was hard to make any moves and ended up 7th."

That put Drake starting 7th in the B-main event. They seemed to have figured the car out as Drake began moving forward. While battling with the 4th place driver for the final transfer spot, the 4th place running driver would spin out & collect Drake, ending his night early.

"Rolled out 7th in the b main, the car was a lot better. Was passing for the transfer spot when the 4th place car spun right in front of me resulting in my right rear popping and ended my night."

Sunday, Drake would be in action at Silver Dollar Speedway. He would run his 360 cubic inch engine against the 410's. The night would begin with qualifying, where Drake would be the 3rd car to hit the track in his group. He would end up timing in 5th quickest in his group. Drake started his heat race in the 4th spot & would fall back to 7th where he finished.

"Qualified 5th in group two out of 9 cars. Started 4th in the heat and ran with the 410s for about the first 5 laps until we just got out motored finishing 7th."

He would roll off from the 20th spot for the feature event. Drake would move around during the feature, trying to find a line that worked for him. He would end up gaining a few spots, getting up to the 15th spot where he would finish.

"Started 20th in the feature and tried some different lines at the start of the race. Made a few passes throughout the race which put me 15th. We also ran 3rd out of all the 360s that were there."

It was a solid weekend for Drake Standley. He would have likely been in the feature on Saturday if not for bad luck. Then on Sunday, he had a solid showing against the 410's with the 360 under the hood.

Drake would like to thank his sponsors; Golden Valley Auto Body, Yuba City Scrap and Steel, Vanlare Steering Repair, and Standley Bros Hot Rods.
