Drake Standley Has Solid 2023 Season!

12/12/23... Press Release: This season, Drake ramped up his racing schedule, as he ran his second full season behind the wheel of a Winged 360 Sprint Car. He'd put together a solid season, as they found some impressive speed & Drake had some solid runs during the season.


One of his best runs of the season came early on in Placerville. It would be their 5th points race of the season as they brought the month of April to a close. He'd put together a pretty good night, which ended with a 6th place finish.


He would continue to run in Northern California, having some solid runs, and making some features in Marysville, Petaluma, Placerville, and Chico. Drake only got better the more he would run at these tracks.


The best run of the season came at Silver Dollar Speedway on the 4th of July. Against a solid field of cars at Silver Dollar Speedway, he put together a great night of racing. Drake had speed all night, and would go on to bring home a top-5 finish.


In late August, Drake made his way up North to run in Oregon for the second part of the Western Sprint Tour. Against a tough group of cars all week, he would put together a solid week, which was highlighted by a 6th place finish at Southern Oregon Speedway.


A big month of October rounded out the season for Drake. He would run the Fall Nationals at Silver Dollar Speedway, where he'd make the Friday Night feature & finish 19th. Then Drake made a rare trip to Central California for The Trophy Cup, where he'd battle the toughest field of cars all year. Drake ended the weekend on a tough note as he'd get upside down during the Saturday Night finale.


Overall, it was a good 2023 season for Drake. While he didn't get a win, he ran a lot of races & improved all year. He would end the season running 30 events, making 13 features, grabbing 0 wins, 4 top-5's, and 5 top-10's.


"All in all, I think we had a pretty decent season. Although I couldn’t secure a win, I feel Ive improved as a driver and really want to be better for next year. I want to do everything in my power to make sure im in the best shape physically and mentally for next year. I cant thank Kyle Standley enough for everything hes done for me this year to give me a racecar to run. I also want to thank Rod Tiner Jr for giving me advice on being mentally strong and persevering even when i have bad nights."
