Dylan Bloomfield Battles To 6th Place Finish To Kick Off SCCT Season!

By: Chris Santos

3/27/23... Placerville CA: Saturday would see Dylan Bloomfield & the Vertullo Motorsports Team return to action in Placerville, this time against the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. Against a stacked field of Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Dylan would try & carry his momentum from last Saturday into the SCCT opener.

Dylan would roll out for qualifying in the 3rd group, where he would have to top a very tough group. He would be the 1st of twelve cars in group three to hit the track for time trials. He would quickly get into rhythm, as he would put down two very good laps. The better of the two would be good enough for 2nd quick in his group.

That would line Dylan up in a prime position to make the dash, as the 17 year old would start his heat race on the pole. He would just need to win the heat race to make the feature. Dylan would get going but make a mistake which would put him back to 3rd. He would finish there & transfer on to the feature event.

"Started out good going 2nd quick in our group for qualifying. " Dylan added, "That put us on the pole of our heat race, but I made a mistake which put us back to 3rd."

It was time for the feature, and Dylan would roll off from outside of row five in the 10th spot. Early on, Dylan would get his way into 8th & roll around for a while. Eventually, he would get his way up to 6th, before biking it in turns three and four, falling back to 12th. Perseverance was key, as Dylan would put his head down & battle his way back up to 6th where he would finish.

"In the main event we started 10th & rolled around in 8th for a while." Dylan stated, "Then I got to 6th and made a mistake biking it in three & four which put me back to 12th but was able to battle my way back up to 6th by the end."

It was another solid weekend for Dylan Bloomfield as they kicked off the 2023 SCCT season with a 6th place finish. Dylan & the Vertullo Motorsports Team will look to continue this solid start to the season into Stockton for the NARC & SCCT double header.
