Dylan Bloomfield Captures 3rd Place Finish at Ocean Speedway!

5/4/23... Watsonville California: Friday Night, Dylan Bloomfield would be in action at Ocean Speedway with the Taco Bravo Sprint Cars. A solid field of 25 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would be in the pit area ready to for a strong night of racing.


The night wouod get started with qualifying, as Dylan would be the 21st of 25 cars to hit the track. Going out late, Dylan would lay down a very good lap. That would end up putting him 2nd quickest overall in qualifying.


He would then lineup on the outside of row two in 4th. It would be a follow the leader type heat race. Starting 4th, Dylan would get in line & end up finishing the heat race in the 4th spot.


Dylan would end up making the dash, where he would start in the 5th spot. Starting 5th, Dylan would move forward in the dash. He would gain one spot & ended up finishing in the 4th spot, bettering his feature starting spot.


"I ended up qualifying 2nd, & then started the Heat race 4th. Everyone got in one line and finished 4th. In the dash I started 5th and moved up a row to 4th."


In the feature event, Dylan would roll off from the 4th spot. Early on, he would fall backwards to the 6th spot. However, he would battle forwards & pass his way to 3rd. He would then have some good battles with Kaleb Montgomery before finishing 3rd.


"Started 4th in the feature and fell back to 6th early on, but was able to pass my way back up to 3rd with some good battles with Kaleb Montgomery."


Saturday Night, Dylan would be in action with the NARC 410 Sprint Cars. A great field of 20 Winged 410 Sprint Cars would be in action for their return to Antioch Speedway.


The night would get going with qualifying, as Dylan would be the 15th car to hit the track. Going out late, Dylan would lay down an impressive lap in front of the hometown crowd. That would put him 3rd quickest overall.


In the heat race, Dylan would roll off from the 4th spot. He would have a ton of speed in the heat race, battling forward to 3rd. He would try & get to 2nd, but came up just short & finished the heat race in 3rd.


Dylan would make the dash where he would roll off from 4th. Unfortunately, Dylan would fall backwards in the dash. He would make a few mistakes & end up finishing 6th.


"It was cool to race in front of my home track. We qualified 3rd out of 21 410s. In the heat race I started 4th and almost got to 2nd but couldn’t make the pass and finished 3rd. For the dash I started 4th and was just in the wrong spots at the wrong times and made a few mistakes which put me 6th."


The feature would see Dylan start on the outside of row three in 6th. Early on Dylan would battle around 6th, 7th, & 8th. However, on the late restart, he would hit someone's right rear & half spin. Dylan would drive back around him but slide himself & fall back to 11th where he finished.


"Started 6th in the main event and with all the tough talent with the Narc 410s I was sitting around 8th running down 5th, 6th, 7th when a caution came out with 4 to go," Dylan continued. "On the restart I got break checked and hit his left rear and half spun and got pushed back 10th. I drove back around them then got slid and got tight on the curb which put me back to 11th."


Overall it was a very good weekend for Dylan & the Vertullo Motorsports Team. Dylan would have really good speed in both the 410 & 360 & brought home some solid results.
