Dylan Bloomfield Finds Speed at 2022 Trophy Cup!

BY: Chris Santos

10/25/22…Tulare California: Thursday Night, Dylan would once again team up with Vertullo Motorsports, this time for the 2022 Trophy Cup. A star studded field of 86 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would be in the pit area on Thursday Night, ready to kick off the 2022 Trophy Cup!

Thursday Night Qualifying would see Dylan roll out in Group B for qualifying where he would go out as the 13th car. Going out early in his group, he would lay down a good lap that would put him 14th quick out of the 43 Winged 360 Sprint Cars in his group. “Night started out alright going 14th quick in qualifying.”

That would line him up in the 3rd spot for his heat race. Starting 3rd, Dylan would struggle in the heat race. He would end up falling back to the 6th spot where he would finish and go to the b-main. “Heat race started 3rd and just kinda got idk just trying to learn how to be aggressive on this track here. Fell back to 6th.”

After his heat race, he would lineup in the 13th spot in the B-main. He would need to make moves as only the top-4 transferred. Unfortunately he was not able to transfer as he would drive up to around 6th before he would end up falling back to 14th where he would finish and being Night 1 to an end. “Started in the back of the B-Main and ran up to like 6th at one point and then fell back just being a bit to free.”

Friday Night, Dylan and the Vertullo Motorsports team would once again be in action at the Tulare Thunderbowl for Night 2 of the Trophy Cup. He would be looking for a better night after struggling during Night number 1 of the 2022 Trophy Cup.

He would go out late in the first group on Friday Night, looking to continue his qualifying speed. Unfortunately he would lay down 2 tough laps and end up 28th quick out of the 42 Winged 360 Sprint Cars in his group. “Night started out pretty rough, qualifying went like 28th, just banged the boards too hard like jumped the cushion and hit the wall.”

That would line him up in the 7th position for his heat race. However this is where things started to turn around. He would end up driving forward in his heat race, going 7th-2nd and nearly tracking down the leader. “Went into the heat race and started 7th. Guys set the car up great, drove it from 7th to 2nd kinda reeling in the leader slowly but he was just too far gone.”

Despite his heat race efforts, he would still line up deep in the B-main as he started 15th. Starting 15th, he continued to find speed as he would drive up to the 10th spot where he would finish and end his night early. “In the B-main started 15th, and ran it up to 10th.”

Saturday Night, Dylan would head into Trophy Cup being 46th in points and starting on the front row of the heat race. In the heat race he would roll off from the pole. He would jump out to the early lead and go on to win the heat race and put himself into the B-main.

He would once again start deep in the B-main as he would start on the outside of row 8 in the 16th spot. As per the theme of Friday and Saturday, Dylan would find his stride in the B-main as he would once again move forward. This time to the 12th spot but it was not enough and his weekend would come to an end.

Overall it was a good weekend for Dylan aboard the Vertullo Motorsports 83v. After his struggles early on he would move forward in most of his races and showed some good speed by the time the weekend ended. They would leave Trophy Cup with their heads held high and knowing that they improved throughout the weekend.
