Dylan Bloomfield Hard Charges at Fall Nationals!

By: Chris Santos

10/5/22…Chico California: Friday night Dylan Bloomfield and his team would make the trip to Silver Dollar Speedway as he would once again team up with the Vertullo Motorsports team. A very good field of 67 winged 360 sprint cars would be in the pit area ready to kick off the 2022 Fall Nationals.

Dylan would start his night off qualifying in the fourth of four groups as he would have a very tough group filled with young stars and veterans. He would end up putting himself in a good spot as he would go fifth quick out of the 16 winged 360 sprint cars in his group. “Night started out okay going to fifth quick in qualifying.”

His fifth Place qualifying effort would line him up on the inside of row three in the fourth heat race. Early on he would run fifth however, he would get into another car and fall back to the eighth position where he would finish the heat race and have to go through the B-Main event. “In the heat race I was running like 15 and got right reared, but it’s okay it was just a racing deal.”

He would end up starting ninth B-main event. This is where things started to go well for Dylan as he started to get things going and he would make some really good moves through the field. By the end of the B-main, he would finish in the third position and transfer to the feature event on Friday night. “

Locking into the feature from the B, he would start on the inside of the last row in the 23rd spot. He would have a lot of speed as it was a long feature. Dylan would just have to stay alive as it was a race of attrition and when the checkered flag fell, he would finish in the seventh spot going +16 on the night. “Went 23rd to 7th in the A the guys had the car rolling tonight.”

Saturday night Dylan and his team would return to Chico California for night two of the Fall Nationals. Another great field of 66 winged 360 sprint cars would pack the pit area ready to end the 2022 season for Silver Dollar Speedway.

The night would once again start off with Dylan being in the third of four qualifying groups. Once again being in another tough group, Dylan would show the speed he had all weekend as he would end up fourth quick out of the 16 sprint cars that were in group number three. “The night started out pretty good going fourth in our group.”

He would roll off from the third position of the heat race. Going into turn one Gauge Garcia would try to throw a slider, but would get into Dylan and go for a wild ride. Dylan would continue on and would end up finishing the heat race in the third position and transfer to the feature. “Heat race started and going into one got into it and knocked the front wing  down and bent the drag link, which made it kind of hard to handle. We were still able to manage a third Place finish in the heat.”

The feature event would see him roll off from the 10th position on the outside of row number five . Starting 10th Dylan would continue to be really fast as he would find himself battling for a top five Spot early. However, late in the race, he would get into the wall causing damage that would send him into the work area and end his night early in the 17th spot. “Started 10th in the main and was up to like sixth or seventh right there. Car felt great and there was a big wreck and the next thing you know I’m like in the fifth or fourth spot. Thought I had a chance at it, but had the wing too far trunked and made a mistake driving straight into the wall. Ended up breaking the Jacobs ladder and falling back to way back there around 15th guys worked hard can’t thank them enough.”

It was a solid weekend for Dylan aboard the Vertullo motorsports number 83V . He would bring home a hard charger and top ten on Friday and nearly do the same on Saturday before a mistake it would cost him a lot of positions.
