Dylan Bloomfield Takes on Central Valley in 410 Double Header!

By: Chris Santos

10/19/22… Hanford California: Friday Night, Dylan Bloomfield and his team would make the trip to Keller Auto Speedway to run with the NARC 410 Sprint Cars for the Anthony Simone Classic. A great field of 31 Winged 410 Sprint Cars would be in attendance for Night 1 of a big double header weekend.

Dylan would get his night started out with single car qualifying as he looked for a good lap to set himself up nicely. He would get just that as he would end up 4th overall out of the 31 Winged 410 Sprint Cars. “Started the night out going 4th fastest.”

That would set him up in a good spot for his heat race. Dylan would roll out for his heat race on the pole. Starting on the pole he would jump out for the early lead and never look back. He would go on to win the heat race. “Heat race I started on the pole and won it.”

From his heat race efforts, he would earn himself a dash spot. They would pull an invert of 4 which means Dylan would start 3rd as he was 2nd in points. Starting 3rd he would fall back to 5th and finish there. “That put me 2nd in points and for the dash they pulled a 4 so I started 3rd and finished 5th.”

With a 5th place finish in the dash, Dylan would start in the 5th position. Early on he would battle around the 6th position. He would end up slipping back to the 13th spot where he would finish. “Main event started 5th and was running 6th. Then the car started not wanting to run.”

Saturday Dylan and his team would make the trip to Tulare to run at Thunderbowl Speedway for the Roth Classic. It was an already busy day as he would be running double duty. However an engine change in the 410 would just add to that. “So Saturday morning at Tulare we leaked the motor down and found out the motor was down a cylinder. So Rusty, Rich, Dave, my dad, guy, Dennis all worked hard to get the motor changed in time for hot laps doing double duty. (360 and 410).”

In the 360, Dylan would struggle early on in qualifying and then came up light at the scales. The heat race would see him go from 8th to 6th. Then the B-main Dylan would charge from the 17th position to the 8th spot but would unfortunately come up just two spots short of the final transfer spot to the feature event.

“At the beginning of the night in the 360 I forgot to roll over the scales after hotlaps so after qualifying I came in and I was light at the scales 🤦🏼‍♂️ heat race started last and got up to 6th. B main started 17th I think and tried super hard to get to the last transfer spot but missed it by 2 finishing 8th.”

The 410 would also see Dylan struggle early on. He would end up going 20th quick in qualifying. Then in the heat race he would go from 7th to 8th. However they would make changes going into the feature that would allow Dylan to go from 20th to 13th in the feature and show some really good speed.

“410 went out for qualifying and didn’t qualify to good being my first time in a 410 at Tulare. Heat race started 7th finished 8th. In the A main we changed the setup and it worked pretty good going 20th to 13th. Can’t thank all my guys enough for working so hard all weekend!”

It was an overall solid weekend for Dylan. They would show very good speed in Hanford and have a near race winning car. In Tulare they would struggle early but found some solid speed as the night went on. Next up for Dylan is the 28th annual Trophy Cup in the Vertullo Motorsports 83v.
