4/18/23... Tulare California: Friday Night, Billy Aton would make the drive down to Tulare California for Night 1 of the 2023 Dennis Roth Classic. Billy would look to rebound from an unlucky Anthony Simone Classic in Hanford.
Billy would get his night started off with qualifying, as he would be the 10th of 26 cars to hit the track. He would roll out & lay down a lap of 14.276. Unfortunately, that lap would only put him 24th quick as almost everyone was separated by just one second in qualifying.
That would line Billy up in the 8th starting position on the outside of row four. Starting 8th, it would be pretty straight forward. Billy would get to 7th, then everyone would start to string out. He would end up finishing there in the 7th position.
With only 26 cars, everyone would make the feature, as Billy would roll off from the 22nd spot. Early on, Billy would get rolling and would pass a few cars. While running around the 17th spot. Billy would unfortunately get caught up in someone else's mess & get upside down, bringing his night to an end.
It was another tough night for Billy & the 26 team. Despite the bad luck, Billy showed some really good speed in the feature & was able to make some solid moves.
