Ervine, 17th & 14th at Western World Championships!

By: Fast Time Media

11/10/23... Somerton, Arizona: Friday & Saturday Night, Austin Ervine was in action at Cocopah Speedway. It would be just his second ever time running the Western World Championships as he looked to have a good run this past weekend!

His night began with heat race action where he'd roll off from the pole position. Austin didn't have the best heat eace. After starting on the pole, he'd fall back a few spots. He'd end up finishing in the 4th spot, but still transfer to a feature.

That would line him up in the 16th starting spot on the outside of row eight for the feature event. Austin couldn't do much in the feature as they struggled with the feature. He'd end up falling back to 17th & finish the feature there.

Entering Night Two, he'd start his heat race from the outside of the front row in 2nd. Once again he'd look to loco into the feature. Much like Friday, he'd fall back to finish in 4th. However this time he's come up just short of a transfer spot. That sent him to the B-main where he'd start & finish 1st & make the feature event.

When the Saturday Feature began, Austin would roll off from the inside of row nine in the 17th starting spot. During the feature, Austin was able to move forward this time. He'd make his way up to the 14th position, and go on to finish the feature event there on Saturday Night.

"This was my second time getting to run the Western World. My rookie year I didn’t make the show but finally I got to make it & run the race I always grew up watching at manzanita. Night one we were able to transfer straight into the main from the heat race. We struggled with the set up & couldn't go forward in the main. Night 2 I would start 17th in the main & made it up to 14th."

It was a solid weekend for Austin Ervine & a great way to end his 2023 race season. He'd make the feature both times & was able to move forward during the Saturday Night feature. Austin would also end up 3rd in the ASCS Non Winged points standings!

Austin would like to thank his sponsors; Pritchett Metal Products, Cal Pro Turf, and the Jolly Tamale.
