Evan Gularte 6th at Cycleland Speedway!

9/27/23… Chico, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Evan Gularte was back in action at Cycleland Speedway. He would take on a tough field of Open 500 Outlaw Karts in what was a strong weekend of racing at Cycleland.

Evan started the night out with time trials where he was the 3rd car out. He would end up timing in 17th quickest overall. That lined him up on the pole of his heat race. Starting first, Evan would fall to 2nd & finish the heat race there.

That started Evan 12th in the feature. In the feature, he would just stay out of trouble. He ended up surviving the feature event & going on to finish in the 9ths spot. He would then run the Grandpa George race where he would start in the 13th spot & go on to finish 3rd.

“Friday did not start the way we wanted, ended 17th in Qualifying. Ended up Second in the heat and survived through the main to finish 9th. Then got to run the Becker Motors race and finished 3rd.”

On Saturday, they would start the night off by making a motor swap. He was able to make it out for qualifying but timed in 12th quickest overall. He started the heat race on the pole, but would miss on the setup. Evan would end up slipping back & finishing 5th.

Coming into the Saturday Feature, Evan would be slated to start in the 11th spot. He would finally seem to have the car & setup figured out in the feature. After starting 11th, Evan charged his way forward & would end up finishing in the 6th spot, just outside of the top-5.

“Saturday we qualified 12th after a motor swap. Did not hit setup right in the heat and finished 5th i believe. Then charged from 11th to 6th in the main!”

It was a good ending to what was a tough weekend for Evan. Things didn’t really seem to go his way all weekend, yet he was still able to bring home a 6th place finish on Saturday.
