5/24/23... Placerville, California: Saturday Night, Evan Gularte would be back in action with the Joe Hunt Wingless Sprint Tour at Placerville Speedway. It would be another night of bad luck for Evan, as he would end his night with more engine issues.
The night started out with qualifying, where Evan would be the very first car to hit the track. He would have timed in 19th quick overall. However, Evan would end up being light at the scales & was DQ'd, putting him 30th quick.
"Felt good in hot laps and turned a good lap to go 10th quick, didn’t adapt to the track for qualifying, but it would not have mattered because I didn’t make weight."
Evan lined up in the 7th spot for the heat race. Starting 7th, Evan would move forward in the heat. He would gain two spots & get into the 5th spot. Unfortunately, he would be just one spot short of a transfer to the feature.
He would start the B-main in the 12th spot. Evan would move forward early. However, his night would come to an end in the B-main. While trying to get into a transfer spot, Evan would have engine issues & that brought his night to an end.
"Started last in the heat and finished 5th. Then we had motor issues in the B-main and did not finish."
Once again, Evan battled bad luck in Wingless action. Despite being DQ'd in qualifying, and having engine issues in the B-main, Evan would once again show he had speed against some of the best.
