By: Fast Time Media

7/5/23… Oroville, California: Saturday & Sunday Night, Evan Gularte was back in action at Cycleland Speedway for the Ed Brown Classic. Evan put together a solid weekend of racing as he grabbed a runner up finish on Saturday & was in the lead before his engine blew on Sunday Night.

Saturday Night started out with qualifying where he was the 15th car to hit the track. Despite going out late, he would grab Quick Time. That put him at starting on the outside of row three in the 6th spot. Starting 6th, Evan would make his way forward to the 3rd spot where he finished.

“In Qualifying I was in the 4th group and went Quick Time overall! My efforts from Qualifying had me starting 6th in the heat race and I ended up finishing 3rd!”

Evan rolled off from the inside of row two in the 3rd spot. Starting 3rd, Evan quickly got his way into the 2nd spot. Once in 2nd, Evan would hold onto his spot. He would run the rest of his race in 2nd & finish there.

“My combined results had me line up starting 3rd in the main event and I quickly got to second and stayed there the whole race for a green to checkered race!”

Sunday, Evan started his night out with the King of the Hill race. He would start the King of the Hill race in 2nd. He would battle hard & in the last round, he grabbed the lead in the last corner & won the King of the Hill race.

“My results from the night before had me starting 2nd in the King of the Hill Dash to see where I start in the main. In the last round I got in the lead on the last corner and took the win!”

Evan would start the feature event on the pole. Starting on the pole, Evan quickly jumped out to the lead & began to pull away. Unfortunately, on lap 14, Evan’s engine would blow & bring his night to an unfortunate & early end.

“Starting pole in the main I took off in the lead then my motor blew up with about 14 to go.

Not the ending we wanted but it was definitely a solid weekend for the team!”

It was an impressive weekend for Evan at Cycleland Speedway. He brought home a runner-up finish on Saturday Night, then on Sunday he was on his way to a win before his engine blew.

Evan would like to thank his sponsors; Sal Calderon Racing, Jesse Colwell Racing, Gularte Racing Team, Salco, Bank of Nana and Papa, Mettec Titanium, Factory QRC, Jimmy Elledge Motors, and L Delo Designs.
