Evan Gularte Has Tough Ending To West Coast Nationals!

By: Fast Time Media

3/21/24... Red Bluff, California: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday Night, Evan would be in action for the final time for the 2023/2024 Winter Season. This past weekend's West Coast Nationals brought the season to a close.

He started Friday out with time trials. He would be the 38th Open 500 driver to hit the track & would end up timing in 39th quickest overall. That lined him up on the outside of the front row in the 2nd spot. After starting 2nd he'd go on to grab the lead & win the heat race.

Saturday, Evan started the night out with another heat race. He would roll off from the outside of the third row in the 6th starting spot. After starting in the 6th spot, Evan would go on to finish where he started in the 6th spot.

Evan went out for the qualifier & rolled off from the 3rd position. He would hold onto the spot early as he tried to move forward. Unfortunately he would get sent to the back & go on to finish the Qualifier in the 9th position.

Going into Sunday, Evan would need to make a run through the features as he rolled off from 8th in the C-main. Early on, he'd begin to move forward & was in a good spot to transfer. Unfortunately, he'd spin out & end up tipping over which would bring the weekend to an end.

"Won my first heat race on Saturday, the starter & finished Saturday's heat race in 6th. Then I was running third in the qualifier & got sent to the back & finished 9th. Sunday, I was running in a good spot in the C-main then spun out by myself & tipped over."

It wasn't the ending to the weekend or season that Evan wanted. It was a weekend full of ups & downs that would end with him on his side in the C-main on Sunday.

Evan would like to thank his sponsors: Sal Calderon Racing, Salco Better Energy, Pedrotti Materials, Gularte Racing Team, Jesse Colwell Racing, 3D Structural Engineering, Bank of Nana of and Papa, QRC Karts, and Jimmy Elledge Motors.

Next Race: TBA
