4/25/23... Petaluma California: Saturday Night, Evan would be in action at Petaluma Speedway with the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Tour for the Randy Larson Memorial. A very strong field of 35 Wingless Spec Sprints would be in the pit area & ready to roll on Saturday Night.
Evan would be the 26th of 35 cars to hit the track for qualifying. Unfortunately, Evan would have issues in qualifying and would only get one lap. With only one lap, Evan would end up 30th quickest overall in qualifying.
"Started the night off losing my brakes in qualifying so I only ran one lap."
That would line Evan up in the 8th spot on the outside of row four for his heat race. Unfortunately, he would not make it out for his heat race as he continued to try & fix the issues that he had in qualifying.
He would end up having to roll out for the B-main on the outside of row five in the 10th spot. Early on, Evan would pass a few cars & start to make his way forward. However, more bad luck would strike as his steering box would fall out of the bracket & bring his night to an end.
"Didn’t make it out for the heat unfortunately.
Started deep in the B, passed a few cars and my steering box fell out of the bracket."
It would be a very unlucky night for Evan & the Gularte Racing team in Petaluma. He would have some bad luck in both qualifying & the B-main & his night would come to an early end.
