9/20/23… Hanford, California: Thursday Night, Dawson Faria was in action at Kings Speedway with the Kings of Thunder Winged 360 Sprint Cars. It was his first time since May, that Dawson was behind the wheel of a Sprint Car.
The night would get off too a tough start for Dawson. He would be the 22nd car out of 28 to hit the track for time trials. As he went out late for qualifying, Dawson would lay down a time of 14.595. That would only be enough for Dawson to time in 21st quick out of 28 Winged 360 Sprint Cars.
He would lineup for heat race number one on the outside of row three in the 6th spot. Dawson would get a good start & quickly jump into 4th. Once in 4th, he was able to hang onto the spot. The #5R of Ryan Rocha would try to reel him in, but Dawson hung on & finished 4th.
Going into the feature event, Dawson started 19th as they would get their qualifying times back. As he rolled off from 19th, Dawson was able to slowly make his way forward. A custom filled feature saw Dawson keep his car on do trouble & move towards the front. Once the checkered dropped on the feature, Dawson was able to go from 19th to 12th & finish there.
It was a good return to action after over three months off of racing. Dawson would put together a good night, after getting it off to a tough start. Despite having limited starts this year, he’s someone to keep your eye on as the Central Valley comes to live for a handful of races to end the 2023 season.
