Gularte 11th at Non Wing Nationals!

By: Fast Time Media

8/22/23… Roseburg, Oregon: Friday & Saturday Night, Evan Gularte would return to the state of Oregon to race. This time it would be aboard the Non Wing, as he would be in competition at the Non Wing Nationals at the new Douglas County Dirt Track.

Evan started Friday Night out with time trials, where he was the 14th of 30 cars to hit the track. Going out about halfway through the field, Evan was able to put down a pretty solid time. That put the driver of the Gularte Racing #17m 16th quickest overall out of 30 cars.

He would lineup in the 3rd spot for heat race action. Unfortunately while running in the top-5, Evan would get taken out & have to settle for 6th. That put Evan in the B-main where he would run in a transfer spot. However, he would once again get taken out, this time on the last lap & that ended his night.

“In the heat race, I was running top-5, until I got taken out & finished 6th. Then in the B-Main I got taken out of the transfer again on the last lap & finished 6th.”

Going into Saturday, they’d jump straight into heat race action as there was no qualifying. Evan rolled off from 2nd, but was able to quickly get into the lead. Once Evan was in the lead, he would go on to win his heat race.

He still would have to go through the B-main to make the Saturday Night feature. Luckily, Evan started 3rd in a transfer spot. He continued to show off his speed from the heat race as he grabbed the lead. After grabbing the lead, he never looked back & won the B-main.

“We finished 1st in the heat race & ran the fastest time of the weekend! Then we won the B-main & made the feature.“

Evan made the feature & lined up in the 4th spot after the inversion. He would run 3rd for a while before falling back. Unfortunately, Evan ended up getting into the wall. That brought out the caution but he was able to keep racing. Coming from the back, Evan charged back to 11th where he would finish.

It was a solid weekend for Evan at just his first race at The Douglas County Dirt Track. They learned a lot all weekend, and Evan brought home a solid finish to end the weekend on a good note.

“Started the feature 4th and ran 3rd. I fell back again then crashed and came back to 11th. Overall not a bad weekend, Learned and improved a lot!
