Isaiah Vasquez Has Tough Ending to Night in Petaluma

By: Chris Santos

9/28/22…Petaluma California: Saturday Night Isaiah Vasquez & his team would make the trip to Petaluma looking to rebound from a rough flip in Chico at the Gold Cup opener. It was a strong field of 28 Winged 360 Sprint Cars in appearance for the Sprint Car Challenge Tour sanctioned event.

His night would get rolling in qualifying where he would go out in the 2nd of 4 qualifying groups. Isaiah would continue his qualifying success as he would end up 2nd quick in his group out of 7 Winged 360 Sprint Cars, only trailing Justin Sanders.

A 2nd place effort in qualifying would line him up on the pole for his heat race. He would need to win the heat race to make the dash. The heat race would see him fall back to 2nd where he would finish & come just short of a dash spot. However he would still be lined up nicely for the feature.

Isaiah would roll off the feature from the inside of row 5 in the 9th spot. He was poised for a solid night. However just a few laps in he would feel the car having some issues & would pull it off the track. It would result in a 24th place finish & a very disappointing end to his night.

Next Race: TBA
