6/11/24… Billings, Montana: Saturday Night, Jake Dewitt finally got the opportunity to kick off his 2024 racing season. After an unexpected start to the season, the car was finally ready & Jake was ready to roll in 2024 at Big Sky Speedway.
The night started with heat race action, as Jake started out on the inside of row three in the 5th starting spot. Getting his first laps of the season in the car, Jake would spend the heat race trying to get comfortable as he fell back to 7th where he’d finish.
Luckily for the feature, Jake started on the outside of the front row in 2nd. Once again, he was just trying to get comfortable & get some laps under his belt. During the feature, he’d spin in turn four & decided to pull in & call it a night, as he’d finish the feature in the 9th spot.
“First night out was definitely not how we wanted to start the year. Tried something new with our seat positioning & was uncomfortable all night. I spun in turn 4 & pulled it in knowing I wasn’t going anywhere.”
Despite not having the night that they wanted, Jake was able to kick off his season & bring the car home with no issues. They’ll regroup, & be back in action on Saturday Night for the second race of the season.
