11/16/23... Perris, California: Saturday Night, James Turnbull was in action at Perris Auto Speedway for the final time of 2023. It was the final USCA CRA race of the season, and James looked to end the season on a strong note.
He'd start the night with a good qualifying run. Out of 29 Non Winged 410 Sprint Cars, James was able to lay down a good lap & time in 11th quickest overall. He'd put down a time of 16.850 which put him ahead of some heavy hitters.
James would then go out for heat race action where he'd roll off from the outside of row two in the 4th starting spot. He'd end up putting together a great heat race. James would charge from the 4th spot & grab the heat race win.
Going out for the feature, James would start the race out in the 10th spot. Quickly, he'd move forward & begin to battle for a top-5 spot. After a red, James would get driven through. His front end would be destroyed & he'd spin out & bring his night to an early end.
It was a great night brought to an unfortunate end early. James was on pace to have his best finish of the 2023 season before being taken out. That was his last race for a while as he has a cool opportunity to work on a national car in the mid-west for the 2024 race season.
