James Turnbull Has Solid Run With USAC CRA Sprint Cars!

By: Chris Santos

4/3/23... Mohave Valley, Arizona: Saturday Night, James Turnbull & the Bull Motorsports team would make the trip to Mohave Valley Speedway in Arizona for the USAC CRA race on Saturday Night. A great field of 30 Non Winged Sprint Cars would be in attendance, ready to go on Saturday Night.

James would roll out for qualifying, and need to lay down a good lap to be in a good spot for the rest of the night. He would end up having a tough pair of laps, and that would put him a little behind the eight ball, going 20th quick overall.

"Well the night went subpar, i put myself behind the 8 ball by going 20th in qualifying. I could’ve drove it a lot harder."

He would then roll off from the outside of the front row, in the 2nd position. James would end up falling back in the heat race. He would have some struggles passing, as he would get stuck behind a few guys & would finish the heat race in 6th.

"Then we started second in our heat and was stuck behind a what i like to call an “arrow without feathers” driving all over the place dropping me further and further back and ended up 6th."

Unfortunately, he would not transfer to the feature, as he would roll off from 7th in the B-main event. Only six cars would transfer, so James would have to get rolling. He would do just that as he would finish the B-main in the 6th & final transfer spot.

"that put us in the B Main which we fourtunately transferred through."

James would start the feature from the outside of row ten in the 20th spot. He would get rolling early on, as he would make his way up to 12th. Unfortunately James would get over the cushion & fall back to 17th. James would end up finishing in the 16th spot.

"I started 20th and was up to about 12-13th on the top until i blew it off the cushion and fell back to 17th, James continued. "I tried to salvage all i could from there and ended up 16th. Definitely had speed but the results didn’t show it."

It was a solid night for James & the team. He would get behind the ball early, but was able to make up for it throughout the night. James was in route to a top-10 finish if not for getting over the cushion.

James would like to thank his sponsors; Tierra Site Works, M1 Fabrication, Brisas Air Conditioning, James Yoast Tile, Diversified Roofing Systems, Majestic Metals, Aery Construction, Sherman Race Cars, R&S Drywall, CMR Construction, Factory Kahne, Sainz Cabnets, Rippin For A Cure, Devin Mayo Photography, Max Mittry, Big Girl Motorsports, and The Custom Shop.
